Nenni & Associates partnered with a client in the HVAC/MEP industry to identify an HVAC Manager for their company. The company is a Canadian-based facilities services mechanical contractor that provides heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and plumbing services. The client needed a candidate with prior hands-on experience; preferably in a current role running a team of techs.
The Nenni team of Sam Swafford and Josh Bayless collaborated to identify the best candidates for the HVAC Manager role. Using the criteria of current leadership with a team for HVAC/MEP initiatives, Sam and Josh pulled top-tier candidates from similar industries, including Mechanical and Plumbing Contractors. Two candidates were identified, and eventually, one finalist was chosen.
The decision-making team was compelled to make an offer after seeing that the candidate had a long tenure in the field and transitioned to Project Manager. They were impressed at how he oversaw small teams of technicians in the past. They also felt it was beneficial that the candidate lived in the area, was in the market for a leadership position, and was comfortable shelving his union card.
The candidate accepted the offer since the compensation expectations were met, the location was perfect, and the role was exactly what he was looking for.
