Nenni & Associates recently partnered with an Energy Services Company to identify a Director of Project Finance. The company was an ESCO division of a Great Lakes-based General Contractor focused on decarbonization and the delivery of turnkey energy solutions to commercial and industrial customers.
The client sought a candidate with an understanding of the primary financing methods for commercial solar EPC projects. Other criteria included knowledge of structuring and developing power purchase agreements, as well as a background in financing mechanisms and procurement costs for solar PV projects. The client preferred a candidate with an MBA in finance and three to five years of experience in renewables.
The Nenni & Associates team submitted six qualified candidates from the Renewables, Investment banking, and construction industries for consideration. After much deliberation, eventually a finalist for the role was identified. The top finalist was considered the best fit due to their alignment of culture and values with the company, deep industry knowledge, and financial competency. The candidate showed the necessary skills that would complement and contribute to the company’s mission.
An offer was made, and the candidate was compelled to accept. They saw an incredible opportunity to join a high-performing organization dedicated to helping customers consume less energy. They were also excited about the exposure to complex challenges and projects and the potential for performance-based earnings.
